However, declaring something (i.e. promising) and doing it are slightly different things. Politicians promise a lot, but how much do they actually fulfil? Honestly speaking, the percentage is small, although nobody keeps accurate statistics of course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nevertheless, the statement about the desire to make Liverpool the best city on the planet is striking and deserves attention. So let&#8217;s try to figure out who exactly included such a promise to an election campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_is_known_about_Carl_Cashman\"><\/span>What is known about Carl Cashman?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Carl received his higher education at the University of Liverpool. The university even shared some information about his studies. For example, it is known that Cashman studied philosophy and politics there. He liked to spend time at a higher education institution, exploring his favourite disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Carl actively participated in elections throughout his entire university studies. He recalls with a smile when one of his teachers strictly recommended Cashman to work on combining electoral activities with the educational process. It happened after he received a bad grade in his first year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During his university years, Carl was especially fond of the course on ideology. He remembered the module taught by Stuart Wilks-Heeg because Cashman wrote an essay criticising the professor&#8217;s book! Then Carl received the highest mark, which confirmed the teacher&#8217;s willingness to accept constructive criticism and his students\u2019 reasoned opinions that contradict his own views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After graduating in 2015, Carl went into politics. It isn\u2019t surprising, as he has always been ambitious. As a result, Cashman put forward his candidacy in the regional, local and parliamentary elections in Merseyside and achieved certain results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2016, Cashman was elected to Knowsley Council and to Liverpool City Council in 2023. Then he headed a group of local Liberal Democrats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Political_preferences_and_career\"><\/span>Political preferences and career<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Cashman\u2019s political views are in many ways similar to those of <a href=\"https:\/\/liverpoolyes.com\/uk\/eternal\/politychni-vpodobannya-liverpulcziv-tendencziyi-v-politychnomu-skladi-meriyi\">Liverpool residents<\/a>. As a staunch Liberal, Carl adheres to the party\u2019s historic ideals, including its focus on social reform, the expansion of civil liberties and the pursuit of economic progress. Liverpool\u2019s Liberals are also known for their fight for equality, tolerance and support for the vulnerable. In addition, they emphasise the importance of education and cultural development and believe that the working class should be better represented in politics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cashman says he is proud to represent the Church ward of Wavertree, winning 50% of the vote. It was a remarkable result for the Liberal Party, which hadn\u2019t had a representative in Wavertree for 13 years. In the previous elections, the Liberal Party achieved several important successes, as it won the Knowsley Borough in 2016, dissolved the single-party council and returned three of its councillors to the House of Representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From 2013 to 2015, Carl was a member of the Prescott City Council, winning a seat in a by-election. He defeated the Labour candidate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Carl Cashman has been a mortgage broker for some time and a businessman since 2020. Before opening his own business, the Liverpool politician helped people buy homes, providing advice on the specifics of mortgages and the associated financial nuances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The politician\u2019s website emphasises: \u201cI\u2019m the one you need. The other options are losing\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Macho_or_Cash_Man\"><\/span>Macho or Cash Man?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Carl Cashman demonstrates considerable confidence in his abilities, including physical ones. He claims on his website and pages on social networks that it is the residents, and not little-known politicians, who know the needs of their community best. Therefore, Carl actively calls on all those who care to join the Liberal Party and even run for the Liverpool City Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although Carl claims that he is not a typical politician, his rhetoric resembles the good old election clich\u00e9s, albeit with certain peculiarities. Cashman says that politics wasn\u2019t his childhood dream, but one day he decided to change the world, emphasising the image of the insider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Perhaps, Cashman\u2019s slogans are convincing for some people, but he is also trying to consolidate his image through selfies from the gym and videos with dangerous tricks. Thus, he shows his physical ability to withstand pressure or political battles. However, his surname treacherously hints that he knows how to invest in election campaigns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, is he the man who will change not only his hometown but the whole world? Or is he another talker who promises more than can deliver?
